Wilderness Country Club is home to the third oldest golf course in Naples, built in 1974 and fully refurbished in 2003.  The course, designed by renown architect, Arthur Hills, was created before any of the living space, so it is a "true" golfing experience, unlike many courses in Florida which simply feel like golf holes separated by houses, condominiums or high rise buildings.

With its conditioning, strategic shot values and ease of walking, Wilderness Country Club has hosted numerous events through the years. Most recently, the club hosted a USGA Senior Open Sectional Qualifier in May 2019 featuring 84 of the area's best senior golf professionals and amateurs who competed for a spot in the 2019 U.S. Senior Open on The Warren Course at Notre Dame.
